One book that I always recommend is Teaching What You Don’t Know by Therese Huston. This saved my butt when I was hired the Friday before classes started. I of course, was generally familiar with my Field, but not the specific courses so this gave me strategies for getting through that first semester. Really highly recommended. I gave it out to new hires in my department. Here’s a link to the Kindle version so you can review the sample online to see if it’s for you. https://a.co/d/05DQlVt4Edit: these were lecture based classes. Don’t know what to recommend if you have labs.
