I just posted a list of some my favorite children's picture books from my list of nostalgic children's books with cottagecore themes on my website as a reply to someone else's comment because they mentioned my name, but I forgot to say that the full list of picture books is actually toward the end of the long list because I did chapter books first. I should probably start adding some internal links. The list wasn't so long when I started it. I also have some references to other people's lists and resources at the bottom. Some of the books on my list are out of print, but if you like something there, I do provide links to where you can read it online (if available), and I don't think any of them are so rare that they can't be requested through ILL. I can't even tell you which is my very favorite because I've read quite a lot and keep changing my mind! I forgot to mention Charlotte Zolotow as another author to look out for. She's an older author, and some of her works are out of print. I know The White Marble is, but I still have it on my list because it was a favorite of mine when I was a kid. It's about a pair of children experiencing the beauty of a special night in a park and appreciating the small things that the adults overlook, and it makes a lovely bedtime story. If you request it, there are two sets of illustrations from different printings. (I like the oldest one best myself.) However, The Seashore Book and The Storm Book are still in print. I haven't reviewed them yet, but they're both about the beauties of nature.
