I've been looking at lotus. I currently use AN ph Perfect because it's pretty idiot proof, but I'm planning to try lotus next grow. It's supposed to be a 3 part powder mix and cal mag is just an add on for deficiency. I would not rely on potting soil alone regardless what you pick. Lotus sells a starter pack here under $25: https://a.co/d/0776X2KH I'd get that and start a regular feed schedule. Low investment and it includes the Cal mag. I would recommend a ph/EC meter so you can log your nutrients and runoff. Probably start around half label strength since it's on top of potting soil.
