Thank you so much for the detailed reply and the inside perspective! Sounds like GMKTecs are the winners for serviceability which I also value. And I really loved the clean, Mac Mini-style look of the ASUS NUC 15 Pro+, but your point about the Intel chip running hotter and triggering excessive fan noise put me off of it. I did some digging and found an ASUS model that uses an AMD chip. So I'm now down to these two final options: GMKtec K8 Plus (Ryzen 7 8845HS / 32GB RAM / 1TB SSD) for $739 ASUS ExpertCenter PN54-S1 (Ryzen 7 260 / 32GB RAM / 2TB SSD) for $1,006 using a combo deal Given your experience with ASUS products and mini PC thermals, how does the cooling design and fan noise of the ASUS ExpertCenter PN-series compare to the GMKtec K8 Plus? Do you think the ASUS is worth the $260+ premium for peace of mind and long-term reliability? (I'd rather pay extra if it's more reliable long term). Or is the K8 Plus still the winner here?

The AMD 260H is a rebadged 8845HS, you would get equal performances with the GMKtec K8 Plus https://a.co/d/0bdQn7AS at 738$ and same prebuild RAM and SSD
