I kept thinking my frenchie had a UTI, but every time all tests came back negative. Vet eventually came to the conclusion that it's because of her recessed vulva and the extra skin. Basically, that area is irritated, making her want to pee more than she should. Her vulva folds were even getting scabbed up sometimes. Surgery was a potential option, but I wanted to avoid that if it could be treated with a reasonable amount of cleaning and and topical treatment. I was cleaning it with various medicated pads and applying various ointments and creams. Tried lots of different combos until I found what actually works (for my dog, anyway). I use these Ma-a-ket wipes first: https://a.co/d/05KhE3wY Then I use these Duoxo wipes: https://a.co/d/07pvDpxD Then I use this Natural Dog Company Skin Soother balm: https://a.co/d/03iGll01 Probably overkill using 2 different wipes, but it's what I found to work, so just stuck with it. For my dog, a couple times per week does the trick, though she stil gets wiped with an unscented baby wipe at least a couple times per day, too. But until everything got healed up nicely, I did it every day. I think the balm was the biggest thing that helped her. That stuff is magic. You gotta get it in those folds, though (with the wipes, too). Get up close and personal, like a gynecologist! Be gentle, though. Don't try to scrub it too hard and accidentally cause even more irritation. I also added a urinary health supplement: https://a.co/d/0bY2W9gJ But I'd check with your vet first, due to your dog's age. Mine was already an adult when I started her on them.
