Your DS2 comes with a square taper bottom bracket of appropriate length to begin with. If I were in your shoes I would simply procure a square taper crankset with a known standard BCD (like 110 or 104 or 96), and buy some cheap Deckas 1x narrow wide chainrings to see what fits your frame. For instance, Prowheel sells this square taper crankset in the US -- it has a 130BCD and can mount a Deckas 1x chainring of anything between 40T and 58T in the outer position -- which should be the same as the outer position in your current setup. I don't know as much about the dimensions about the DS Gen 1, but my son has a DS Gen 2 -- and a 42T chainring mounts perfectly fine in the middle position. It would easily take a 48T+ in the outer position. As for the rest of your drivetrain, if you can get Microshift Advent X 11-48T in your area it's the price performance champion at this moment. Other good options are Shimano CUES 11-48T (10 speed)/11-50T (11 speed), Shimano Deore M5000 11-50T (11 speed), and many others I'm not mentioning. All of them are compatible with what you have. If you want a cheaper drivetrain upgrade, on the other hand, you can buy the Microshift Acolyte 12-46T cassette and pair it with the Microshift Estes RD-M220M or Shimano Essa RD-U2000 rear derailleur. You would keep your current right shifter in this setup.
