Invest in athletic clothing that wicks sweat and allows it to evaporate. 100% cotton anything is basically wearing a sponge. Theres a reason the armed forces don't wear 100% cotton in the field. Dickies shirts and jeans, yeah thats just adding to the discomfort. Plenty of options pack of 5 for 40 bucks. My job allowed shorts and sleeveless shirts. If yours doesnt ask for that rule to ve changed. Take extra shirts to switch out if you get to the point where you are sweating too much. Headbands to keep salty sweat out of your eyes. A sports towel. We have these fans. The ones attached to the light arm at the dock door suck. The blowers you can take into the container with an extension cord. Dust does fly around even if you sweep so you have to angle them up with a peace of wood on the front bottom. I always wear a gaiter and safety glasses anyway. It really depends if management wants to spend money on these or tell you to get lost as they hire someone desperate for work that will work in those ovens. We have water dispensers and you get water when you want. Not when the load/ unload is complete. If your warehouse is strick then request leniency on water breaks. Rotations within the team working that dock door is encouraged so that its not one poor bastard in there for 3 hours. Learn box unloading and loading techniques. The more you try to muscle everything, the more the heat will take a toll on you. Heavy boxes at the bottom light boxes at the top. If you're straining to throw a box up to the top of an 8ft tall wall, not only is it hard its stupid.
