Not true re: cost of scar tape. What you might not realize is most scar tape is reusable. You wash it with handsoap, let it dry then reapply. There are many studies about its efficacy and while they don't know the exact mechanism it's suspected that keeping the scar constantly moist is a big help.

Because your incision is fully closed you should start with a gentle moisturizer like Cerave and then use a silicone scar tape. This is the scar tape I use. More cost effective to use this over pre cut pads. The purpose of silicone scar products is just to hold in moisture while the tissue finishes remodeling.
