Sadly I can't speak to the Green Killing Machine ones but I had a bloom happen in 2 of my tanks a 29g cube and a 25g bowl. I got this one and it cleaned it up in a few days. I put it in the 180g tank as well and just had it running to be preemptive. The bulb eventualy died but I see now I can just buy a replacement.
