Before replacing, I'd try dipping the stylus (gently!) in a blob of Blu Tack a few times. Straight down, straight up. And of course on a fresh spot each time. Soundsmith has actually long recommended Blu Tack as a primary stylus cleaning routine. Personally I prefer to just use a standard carbon fiber stylus brush for cleaning. But if I'm still seeing anything on the stylus after that (using loupe), I'll pull out the Blu Tack. https://www.sound-smith.com/faq/how-do-i-clean-stylus-do-i-use-wet-cleaner-each-time-or-often EDIT: I say "Blu Tack" because that's the well-known product. I actually use Loctite Fun-Tak. If you have a Walmart nearby, a pack that will probably last you forever (as far as stylus cleaning needs, at least) will set you back a whopping $2.33. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Loctite-Fun-Tak-Mounting-Putty-Blue-2-oz-Wallet/22027011
