Link - Here is a link to a "gaming" laptop with basically the same specs power/quality wise $100 less. This laptop in particular also went up in price already and was originally priced $780 Link 2 - The link is to an IGN article from November of last year looking at comparably priced hardware and how much the steam machine "should be" priced at (obviously the market has changed even in that relatively short amount of time but even so that same laptop mentioned is still cheaper than the steam machine) There is no target market really... except maybe super steam fans or tech historians/collectors.
