For the price, I consider it to be good! I set this one up last week and was so satisfied with the Pi 4 + MillSO M-USBPCMIC558-35B combo that I ordered a Pi 5 8GB so I could run Perch v2. I ordered the MillSO MNMNB1053100001NO USB Lavalier Mic to go with the Pi 5 so I could keep the unit inside and run the lavalier wire through a closed window. I live in SC, USA and the Pi 4 running BirdNET v2.4 detected 289 Carolina Wren calls and 31 Eastern Bluebird calls yesterday. The Pi 5 running Perch v2 with the new lavalier mic detected 357 Carolina Wren calls and 58 Eastern Bluebird calls yesterday. Both microphones are within 6 inches of each other in the same window. Also, my Pi 5 running Perch successfully detected 2 different owl species last night that the Pi 4 running BirdNET v2.4 missed. MY original USB mic works fine, but it requires the Pi be outdoors and exposed to the elements. The $22 lavalier mic I purchased this weekend allows me to keep the Pi indoors and in combination with Perch v2 is allowing me to detect a ton of cool new species I was missing. I'm already gaining a better understanding of peak hours for squirrel activity in my yard, lol If you're considering buying a low-priced USB mic, I'd recommend the MNMNB1053100001NO www.amazon.com/dp/B074BLM973
