I hate to say this, OP, but you need to pull a new cable through the ceiling if you're really going to solve this the right way. A 50ft run of HDMI is pretty long, and you should be using fiber cables. Your installer did you dirty by installing a normal cable for a run that long, and should have known better, especially since we're not talking about a ton of additional money to do it the right way. I was in a similar boat, and used this cable. It has functioned completely flawlessly even at very high resolutions and refresh rates. Powering it on both sides correctly (dedicated chargers, as opposed to TV and AVR USB) was critical.
