there are some easy solutions to hiding the wires. If that wall is not an exterior wall, there probably is no insulation behind the dry wall. They sell a kit where you cut out a small square of the dry wall where the TV is mounted, and a small rectangle size hole down at the base board and it comes with an electrical compliant power cable with a male plug at the base board and the female is up at the top where the TV will be mounted over that you plug the TV in. At the baseboard they provide a female to male electrical chord that plugs into the male and to your power strip. You can then run the HDMI or any other AV cables by fishing them from top to bottom or bottom to top if you want to place your AV hardware on the console. If you only use a Roku or equivalent you can tuck that behind the TV and use the power that is ran by the wall mount kit. This is similar to the one I use, but your local hardware store or Best Buy may have more selection for cheaper price. Amazon has less expensive options.
