There's an outlet to the left of the book case. You could use that one instead of running the cord around the corner. If your shelf backing has a hole, run the cord through that. If the shelf backing doesn't have a hole, cut one in the middle of the backing at about the middle of the middle shelf. The hole should be large enough to allow for cords to run at the top of the shelf and just below the shelf. This way if you have wires running from the top or bottom half, there's easy access. Look into either timer plugs or a tap switch. Also consider small display boxes for your open figurines. If you have several similarly sized figures from the same property, maybe make a little diorama. You almost have it with your Star Wars cantina scene. Make it stand out a little bit more.
