I use these around my garden, at least to get seedlings and new plants established. They come with metal landscape staple things to hold them down. Secure each cover in place and they'll give up (though some tried to dig under the cover to no avail). I remove them once the plant has been there a while and starts to outgrow the space under the cover. Helped a TON with new natives this year and starting veggies in the raised beds!
