Did you ever get around to tearing down the eGryphon you were sent? The whole Keebmon/eGryphon thing made me look into building my own eGPU and it can be done relatively cheaply: eGPU PCIe PCB / oculink cable / nvme adapterhttps://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/M-2-M-Key-to-PCI_1601649787267.html?spm=a2756.order-detail-ta-bn-b.0.0.fb1ff19ctlYr8J - $39.98AUD shipped 600W FLEX Mini 1U PSU https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/High-Quality-600W-FLEX-Mini-1U_1601202365332.html?spm=a2756.trade-list-buyer.0.0.6cd576e9BUlpba - $64.73AUD shipped Oculink to USB4 adapter (optional)Wavlink NVME to USB 4 adapter - this one supports PCIe passthroughhttps://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0DL2XZ8DK - $78.98 shipped. Alternatively https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005011673617013.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.191.3c091802qSzSO7 - $123.10AUD shipped A case - this is the most expensive bit - there are cases designed for eGPU, but I bought a clearance perspex Mini ITX case from Amazon for $25 shipped and chopped out the top of the case so I could mount the GPU the full length of the case. - eGPU cases are available also for below GPU - I put in a used RTX3070Ti I pickued up for around $350AUD Power for Thunderbolt - I picked up a used Plugable TB4 Hub with 60w passthrough for US $69.30 / $100AUD shipped I bought an Acasis TB5 NVME adapter which also does seem to work for PCIe passthrough but that was $182.16AUD discounted/ shipped - I don't have a TB5 PC for testing... I'm most interested in the TB5 adapter now from eGryphon - there has been no evidence of a working unit other than the grainy photos they provided but considering a TB5 Nvme adapter is normally above $200 and their unit is supposedly now customised to include PD power injection (something I can't find anywhere available for sale) I really suspect that it can't be done as cheap as they suggest..... Even a teardown of this to see the chipset is actually TB5 as they claim would be interesting if you are willing to address the eGryphon again on your channel...
