I enjoyed Popular Religion in Late Saxon England: Elf Charms in Context. The author doesn't seem to be Orthodox, so in my opinion she tends to see some sacramental acts as superstitious or magical. But it's a good read. High King of Heaven looks at pastoral care in the Anglo-Saxon Church, especially regarding the Roman mission's interaction with the Irish mission also at work in England in the same period.
