I didn’t wear compression socks per se, though I did wear long, stretchy socks (link here) so I didn’t sweat into the boot or get any chafing (I live in NYC and our summers are hot and humid). The walking boot air bladders were typically sufficient for compression, and at home I tried to let my foot breathe as much as possible. I do also recommend getting a waterproof cover for the boot for going outside (something like this), just to keep it clean. Otherwise it felt really gross that I'd be tracking whatever nastiness was on the sidewalk into my house. It was not the most comfortable (very hot lol), but easier than fully sterilizing the bottom of the boot every time I walked in the door.
