Wow, you must have a lot of fines (or doing fine grind?). I strain through a metal mesh (ie countyline mason jar with strainer, coarse grind in jar, insert strainer, add water). This will leave a fair amount of fines when poured off. I would let them settle in the fridge and pour off 90% carefully to not disturb the sludge(fines). Sometimes I would pour off the last 1/3 of the original jar w/ strainer thru coffee filter in an old gold tone filter. So I don’t have to stand there with a heavy jar for 5 minutes, I would put the filter in a cooking strainer suspended over a bowl and upend jar on top of that. MORE RECENTLY someone posted these “cold brew” filters https://a.co/d/04OMaus1 which work great, but aren’t cheap. The larger ones fit a mason jar opening. Faster than paper filter for sure. But the fines don’t bother me all that much, so I probably won’t get them again.

I brew ~200grams coarse grind to 64ozs of RO water. 24 hour room temp brew. Great taste and plenty strong. I use these brew bags to contain the grounds. https://a.co/d/0gnb2jxo
