My advice: don’t worry about rude ppl. Eventually you will have good relationships. Dont be self conscious about not being Catholic yet - and btw Welcome! No one is perfect in this life just go your best. My advice, instead of thinking about all these things at mass and after mass: read a book on what the mass is all about. You will be captivated by all that is going on and the reasons for them. If you do that, you will get so much out of the mass, it will in no way bother you anymore the issues you raised. This will also have a profound effect on your spiritual life. Btw if you want to make friends with a ton of ppl for your whole life talk to the guys at Knights of Columbus. They should have a chapter at your church. If not your church then another. Seek them out. If you are a guy, serious about getting into your your Faith, as you seem to be, well they want to meet you. If you want to follow along what the priest is going to say I suggest the app IBreviary. Sometimes it can be difficult to hear due to audio or other issues.
