My standalone story Wolf & Sparrow fits this. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GH3GZ5VY I don't think anyone could claim the MC has it easy. He is pretty weak by the world's standards as a consequence of his power. Of his 3 companions, in 1v1s I would say 2 of them would absolutely stomp him. And he is roughly the same power level throughout the book (getting weaker at some points). But he doesn't struggle in all fights, maybe half or so.
