There are other PSP subs you could've asked. I don't know how you skipped over subs like r/psphacks or r/PSPHomebrew but somehow made it here. With that said.... The memory stick slot on my 1000 model is a bit finicky, so when I still used it regularly, I avoided inserting and removing the card as much as possible. I don't know if it's a common problem, but your system could have bent or snapped pins; no way to know. Just from a quick search it looks like the slot for the memory stick is on its own board and can be swapped. Guides are online, but I don't know how easy it is to find replacement parts these days. Make sure it works with official storage before trying any adapters. Once you do that, get a memory stick to micro SD adapter like this which allows the micro SD card to be changed without the adapter being removed
