What my wife and i do for staying cool: -We don’t do a hydro-backpack. we have a 32 or so ounce insulated water bottle we put on a shoulder strap and wear it like that. It’s perfect! It’s this: https://a.co/d/0aycYe68 And, although liquid isn’t aloud through security, we started to bring the water bottle full of ice cubes and so far we got through every time. The person would shake thre bottle, hear the chunk 🧊 and it was fine! It’s great because as the day goes on, we’d keep refilling the water over and over, and by the end of the night we still had little bits of ice left! So our water was always cold. Room temp water is not fuckin refreshing in those temperatures all day lol -Our first year, we got a freebie bandana from the Toyota people. We soaked that in water and used it as a sweat rag, absolute power move. So now we bring a bandana or two with us to have that cold, wet wipe. It’s refreshing, and feels nice when your face is constantly feeling sweaty and dirty. -Make sure your clothes are both good for hot weather, that also means sweating. I have a deep hate for polyester, it turns our sweat into something aweful and odors get trapped into the fabric so stubbornly. I would avoid that fabric specifically for something like this. There will be times of being close to each other, touching each other, etc. we’re all a lil stinky at some point, just do what you can to mitigate your stink 😆And that your othes are good for sitting on the ground, a lot of walking, etc. Obviously, good shoes. A personal example is my wife was wearing her favorite jean shorts that unfortunately were short enough that they would ride up when she walked and she got gnarly chafing from that, sucked cuz she was stuck with them for 2 different outfits cuz we’re from out of town. she just bought a chafing stick and dealt with it. Stuff that’s comfy and moveable, good for walking, standing, sitting, laying out in the grass. And keeps you cool! Most of all, the more you do for your body temperature and your comfort, the best day you will have! 😊 And don’t forget your sunscreen yall!!!
