I don’t diamond paint without a light pad. You can buy a small one on Amazon for less than $10 (https://a.co/d/07xpLod8 - this is a basic, “must stay plugged in” model). You can also get rechargeable light pads in this size, as well as the additional sizes if you want them. Personally, I use the A3 or A2 for almost all my projects, and I don’t bother with rechargeable ones, but that’s just me.
