The only 800-1000 page books I've seen that are the size of a pencil are preloaded kindles. It seems strange, using hyperbole, when it can only lead to you accidentally purchasing a bookset when you would prefer a different one. That said... I think this is the most recent bookset and I do like its cover art. Its available in paperback, mass mkt paperback, and leather bound. https://a.co/d/0i0gBtLI You might also be interested in the illustrated editions. They've been made for the first 4 books thus far, each with a different artist. The art isn't canon. GRRM likes to choose artists he likes and give them free reign. He's confirmed maybe a handful of pieces of art hes seen across the calendars, illustrated editions, and coffee table books as being what he had in mind. But if that doesn't bother you they're great editions of the books. The 4th was a bit controversial, though I'll leave that up to you to consider.
