Your post is really important!! I actually work in hospice intake and I see this situation happen all the time. Families often have to be the ones to bring it up first, and once they do, suddenly everyone agrees hospice is appropriate. A lot of people also don’t realize that for Medicare patients hospice is fully covered, which takes a huge weight off families once they understand the benefit. The harder part is that most people never get a clear explanation of what hospice actually does or when someone qualifies. I actually came across a book recently that explains the hospice benefit and eligibility in a really simple way and I thought it did a good job breaking things down for families who are trying to understand the process. In case it helps anyone here:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GR5ZF274
