Yes, this one was hard for my mom too. The whole medication thing was a bit of a nightmare—first because of crossed wires from the doctor to the pharmacy— but then there were the blister packs and pill sleeves (whatever they're called), which are great in theory, but these medication devices were just as hard for my mom as the meds straight from the pill bottle. When things became more of a struggle, I did some searching and found an automatic pill dispenser, which was a game changer. My mom easily adapted, and even gave it a nickname – the "Flying Saucer." lol This was the type we ordered. Of course, my mother's abilities became diminished and when she transitioned to the next level of care, her meds were given to her by hand. But for two years the Flying Saucer was a godsend. My mother would hear the alarm and immediately go to the dispenser where her pills were ready to dump into her hand. (Turning the device upside down to put the pills in your hand stops the sound). No issues, but important to note that the batteries need to be watched and replaced in a timely manner. I think they lasted 3 months but important to keep an eye on to know for sure. There was one occasion where my mom missed a few days because we weren't aware the batteries had died. I hope this helps! Best wishes to you and your grandmother. 💜
