If the base of the trailer is metal mesh, you can drill 2-3 holes in the bottom of each bin, then put a bolt through with sealant to keep water/dirt/mud out. You can drill holes and put locks on both ends of the bin lids as well. It won’t stop someone truly dedicated to stealing from you, but it’ll stop the opportunist thief. If you go the padlock route, I recommend getting a set of common key locks like the ones in the link. Ideally a six pack, but two three packs would work.
