Can you use a wall wart instead? Something like this will give you an adjustable voltage at up to 1 amp: https://www.amazon.com/Belker-Adjustable-Universal-Household-Electronics/dp/B07NKZCWT1 No? Ok well the only thing I'd add to the other replies is I'd highly recommend properly terminating your power cord with a fork terminal. Something like this: You'll need to make sure it's the right size for the terminal and wire and you'll need a crimper. You can use bare wire under those screws, but stranded wire especially gets pretty torn up by the screws and over time will fail. Then you have a loose hot wire. I'd also consider putting it in a case with strain relief for all the connections. The wall wart is going to be safer for a lot less work.
