We thread 1/4 aluminum on the CNC. See if your software supports thread milling. The tool has small triangle blades and the machine holes in the hole and cut a spiral path into walls of the hole. A bit less than 3/16” is plenty deep to get a stud threaded in. We use 10-24 studs thread milling tool Alternately you can get a tapping arm tapping arm You set it up with your thread and depth. The motor then turn the correct number of turns in and out to thread the holes. Just have to drill the holes on the CNC Edit: we have a stud welder but unless you are hand punching templates they can be finicky. If the holes aren’t drilled just right in the wall any sideways torque on the stud can break it off. It will work though
