There have been a couple of other threads on this, which (as a fellow short person 5'4") I appreciate. We have an R1T and a Y. The Y is perfect for my height, though I won't buy another Tesla. The R1T, on the other hand, has a deep seat bottom cushion, and I think this is the main issue. After 18 months of lower leg pain and countless seat adjustments, I ended up buying a cushion to sit on, which fixed my issue (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09CKCHQHC?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_4&th=1) I definitely recommend sitting in the R2 for longer and really messing with all the controls. Be patient(!) and see if a perfect driving position that allows for safe operation and comfort can be found. If it cannot, you will have to decide if this car is the hill you are willing to die on. My two cents is that it is super respectful to her that you are invested in making sure there is a car out there you both love driving.
