I'm in sales and on video calls all day. Good audio is important but I also want it to feel like a normal conversation not talking to a podcaster. I use a gooseneck microphone that's out of frame but reasonably close to my mouth. It's the Behringer TA5212 ($30) with a Shure A412B base ($76). If price didn't matter I probably would have got the Shure MX412 ($375) The other thing I'll say is for video calls I prefer to have wired headphones. Wireless introduces a delay, especially bluetooth. If you're going wireless and the headphones have a dedicated USB dongle my experience is that has less delay even if the unit can support bluetooth. Might not seem like a big deal, but every bit of delay can be a source of unconscious frustration, especially if you're interrupting the other person. Likewise I used a wired ethernet internet line to my router rather than wifi. You might think you look and sound great, but on the other end the person could be getting garbled audio or buffering video. Ultimately some things are out of our control but I try to optimize what I can.
