I moved away ftom the belt. I used a tegaderm over the exit site and a necklace. When I would take off my shirt, I would use a larger white dressing over the wrapped up catheter and exit. Post transplant i found out about silicon based dressings. It works great. It doesn't have a gauze pad. You can put directly over an injury without one. It won't stick to it if its wet/moist. Idk how deep you're talking, so idk if you can use a little petroleum jelly on it.
