No rust being outside for 3 seasons. https://a.co/d/0jk8LPkL What you want to do is remove all the gear on the sewn ends (thick stock rope and steel carabiners) and replace it with amsteel continuous loops. For the short freestanding stands you also need another continuous loop or dog bone to make some additional slack for the hammock to get a perfect hang. The edges of the horseshoe ends hang off the Amsteel loops and secured to the upside down s hooks. With some micro adjustments on length you can get a very good comfortable hang. I’ve bought 2 of these for my house and they have worked perfect over 3 years, outdoors with no rust. For backcountry it’s all amsteel loops, amsteel shackles, and 1” dynema webbing per Jeff myers videos on YouTube. Super light and a 5 min setup between the trees. This video on YouTube is pretty good at explaining the setup “Universal loops dyneema rope continuous loops for hammocks and beckett hitch knots” but his full video library is a treasure trove of rigging knowledge and diy vids to get you there. I build my own amsteel loops, guy lines, ridge lines etc now , but Jeff meyers of dream hammocks is a good place to start if you have trees (or not) and he sells on eBay.
