Evil Dead was 1981, Pet Sematary published in 1983 But, there's one tidbit of info not included here. King wrote a preface for this version of Pet Sematary, the one with Church on the cover. You can see the cover says "Newly introduced by the author". In this preface, he talks about how he often gets asked which of his books scares him the most. And his answer was Pet Sematary. He said that he reread it after he finished writing it and he thought it was way too dark and fucked up to actually publish, and he ended up sticking it in a drawer for an undisclosed amount of time. (This next part I'm not 100% sure on the specifics of how book publishing works, so apologies if my description is slightly inaccurate to how the industry works) Eventually, he said he owed his publisher one more book in his contract with them or something like that, so he had his wife read it to get her reaction, and she told him it was too good not to publish, so he did. Kind of wild that the book could've never been released if things didn't work out that way. I'd recommend reading the preface, it's very interesting. Anyways, so it's likely Evil Dead and Pet Sematary were written even closer together than we know of
