I really like seeing different takes on pre-existing designs, so I’ve been pretty on board with the new design since it was first shown, especially considering Jason has mostly stayed the same throughout his history. Variety is the spice of life, after all. If anything, I think it’s a nice blend of being similar while also adding something new, since it could’ve easily been farther removed from the original design. Most people will look at any hockey mask and just automatically think it’s Jason’s mask. It could’ve ended up looking like this or this, and I’m convinced the general public wouldn’t even bat an eye.
