Alas, it's hard to find affordable squares, whether due to sheer canvas size (why can't DAC sell kits that aren't either a postage stamp or a small country in size?) or just a pricey artisanal shop. There are some, like this one (my first ever square) at only $8, but a lot of the drills were trash. And defective doodoo drills are a bigger hassle for squares than for rounds. I will say this though: on a cost-per-area basis, it's often not that bad. The one I linked comes to 5.71 ¢/in2, while this one from DAC (my largest yet, ~35"×28") comes to 8.25 ¢/in2, yielding a 44% cost premium. And I feel the quality increase is indeed at least 44%. Still though, $78 is a lot of money lol
