To answer your first question, I do have AirPods, but I have chronic ear infections, so wearing earbuds for long periods isn't really a viable solution for me. I also used to do some audio engineering years ago, so I'm familiar with interfaces, gain staging, EQ, compression, etc., but I'm pretty out of practice these days due to a cognitive injury. I actually have a Rode mic and an Apogee interface somewhere in storage, but I'd have to dig everything out and set it back up. Part of the reason I was looking at the DJI is that I've noticed a lot of content creators and YouTubers using them in the field, and I figured if it works well with a Mac, maybe it's worth the investment. I've also seen some much cheaper wireless options on Amazon that I'll link below. One thing I forgot to mention is that my primary goal is dictation. I have a hand injury that makes typing difficult, so I'm looking for something reliable that I can talk into throughout the day. Content creation is more of a secondary benefit. Here's the cheap solution I was thinking to solve dictation (https://www.amazon.com/DUNGZDUZ-Microphone-MacBook-Condenser-Portable/dp/B0FP5534M6/ref=sr_1_3?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.s4aYB5bEOlKz9WL6gNWTMv57D0HGWOOVIyQgm0mVK8tsQ6jPB9zn3gvlv6okf07aQ1zmjZx4-3Wx79rWvWnNHkS7-ItIQ2Y4MLeKmTciz4q5xS3EkJYcKblGfwjKn12h83L7QPqXSVbNWDl9ogc2Qk5TmGl8bPhj5tkHWNO0thm4Ah2riDjZenmZpW81vUYRE3ihELgQFxsQymyH5md0P8tgIs2WMSkY0yjSIyLk1nQ.JTNaO_pyuyIF-qyfwA4p-FLKyGUan4jAZKl7fSLQIWA&dib_tag=se&keywords=mac+mini+usb+mic&qid=1781815347&sr=8-3)
