I'm 54 and have dealt with similar psoriasis since age 3. Sometimes steroids are the only solution to clear a intense flare up, sometimes even that isn't enough. It could be diet, or even the soaps and scented lotions or topicals you are using. I've found I can only use African black soap and natural oils. Not too many fragrances other than natural extracts. It could be gluten sensitivity, it even dairy, that's why a dermatology appointment is so necessary. One thing I did learn is that steroids will think your skin over time, but over prolonged usage. Like I said I used them from 3 till like 30 before I stopped using them. If you decide to use African black soap, do not run the soap directly across the irritation or even on healthy skin. That stuff can to you open because of how it's processed. Sometimes small stones or even chunks of charcoal with sharp corners are in it. I've also had limited success with tar baths as a child. They make a soap now. Stinks to high heaven but it slows the skin's lifecycle. Try something like these overnight beauty treatment gloves (https://a.co/d/00sZLwpo) that you can wear to bed with whatever the dermatologist recommends.
