I'll tell you what we did when our baby was still new... Get yourself Hypo3, Stoma Powder and Butt Paste, in addition to this, switch to dry wipes and a little spray bottle of water. Make sure you're not using tap water, you want distilled, filtered or RO Water. We would spray 2 or 3 wipes before taking her diaper off of her, open the diaper, spray her down if it was a poop, then clean her up with the wipes we wet before hand, then use a dry wipe to dry her off and catch anything we missed. Now, this is the process... spritz with Hypo3 - fan dry, apply stoma powder, then cover with butt paste... The trick is this, DO NOT remove all of this for just a pee diaper, dab him dry, reapply a layer of butt paste if needed. Only remove and redo the whole process if he poops (I know newborns poop so so so much, but to heal that diaper rash it's worth it mama).
