I use puppy training pads under the front edges of my litter boxes to catch anything that’s poorly aimed. It’s fast and easy to clean up and the floor is protected. Most importantly I’m not super annoyed at having to clean the mess because it’s so easy to just pick up the dirty pad and lay out a new one.I use stainless steel boxes with very high sides.
