Some people seem to have ones that let you just auto tap one button and then you need to put a rubber band on the joystick to complete the method. With this one, it can record a whole series of inputs including the joystick movement and loop it. All you do is press some buttons on the back (use the manual it comes with for specifics) then jt starts recording. For the bench you just hold down on the joystick and mash a for a couple seconds. Then you save that to one of the back buttons and you can loop the input while you afk. Any pokemon that spawns within 50 meters of a bench can be shiny hunted this way. I have found looping the fast travel method and running methods less reliable because long term/complex joystick inputs are iffy, but you can still potentially experiment with those too. Teleporters in the lab area are also easily loopable by recording A mash, also battle cafes to afk 1000 battles for the shiny charm
