This is so tough. I’m sorry about your mum too. Be careful about falling, I’d be so scared too. You wouldn’t need to get into the shower, but you’d need a place to drain the basin via the pipe provided. You could also try Dash-stylists.com. They offer salon services for folks with disabilities (your temporary one included). They come to you and bring all the equipment they need. Might be a good option if available in your area.
