This is the one we got: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CM7GJV84?ref_=ppx_hzod_title_mob_b_fed_asin_title_0_0 there are similar ones but I liked that it had a removable reusable silicone bowl and also came with bags. So, we’ve been on 3 plane trips so far (at 8 mo, 14mo, and 16mo give or take), but only had a travel potty with us for the last one. I don’t even remember how we handled the first one 😅, we probably just accepted that we would change diapers; at that point our catches were really hit or miss outside routine catches after wakeups. For the one where we had the travel potty, it was a two-leg trip where both legs were relatively short (<2rs and around 2hrs? Idr) and ended up stuck in one of the airports for like 4 hours. So actually on the way there is was an absolutely full day of travel. Not quite so long on the way back. We didn’t use the potty on the plane, but we made sure to offer before and after each flight, and we caught a poop during our layover. I remember being proud thinking that kiddo seemed to have “held it” to avoid going in their diaper during the flight because this was actually the second time we had flown on a plane and baby waited until the first pottytunity to poop instead of going in their diaper (we didn’t have a travel potty the 2nd plane trip we took because it was literally a one night trip and we couldn’t bring luggage so we decided to just accept changing diapers, but they signed potty the moment we got to the hotel so I sat them on my lap on the toilet and they pooped). Instead of using the public restroom we used the mothers’ room, so it was more private and much cleaner. Normally I would not want to potty a child in a lactation room, but this mother’s room had a changing table and wasn’t specifically labeled for lactation even though that’s the expectation. It made the experience much more pleasant for a germaphobe like me. If the mother’s room hadn’t been an option I would have opted for the family bathroom or used the potty on the changing table to avoid putting it on the floor. And here’s the thing. If babe hadn’t held it and went in their diaper, that’s ok. We would have just dealt with it, especially because it was a short trip. We are doing another flight this fall and I’ll be curious to see how it goes! This time babe will be >2 and have their own seat, which means we’ll have way more room and flexibility. I would consider attempting to potty them in my lap on the travel potty if they sign on the plane, but I think we will just try to offer before and after if we can
