Just get one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Leviton-5266-C-Industrial-Grounding-Black-White/dp/B001VXU4TC .. it's a lot easier to install since you don't have to take anything out of the treadmill. It's pretty easy but you need a wire stripper, a screw driver, and maybe a knife. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrsUPLAZ2pM shows one guy doing it. And if you're willing to pay for a service call, electricians would happily come to do it. Personally I wouldn't hesitate to use it until you get it fixed but I can't say that without getting downvoted.
