NEEWER 77 mm UV Protection Filter, High Definition/30 Layers of Multi-Layer Coating/Waterproof/Scratch Resistant with Nano-Coating, Ultra-Thin UV Filter for Camera Lens

I have several ND filters of different levels. I also have a couple of single glass CPLs that work very well for my needs. I use magnetic mounting for my filters so trying to use a 2 function CPL and variable ND filter combo requires me to grow another pair of arms to use it efficiently. I tend to use the CPL more than NDs and seldom find I need both at the same time. My main filter set is the KASE 95mm magnetic kit with CPL, ND8 (3 stops), ND64 (6 stops) & ND1000 (10 stops). I use magnetic step up rings to get from everything below 95mm to 95mm. I also use the K&F 77mm magnetic filter kit with similar filters in it. Sometimes I don’t want to carry the big kit if I’m traveling light. If you’re shooting video, a CPL / VND would probably work better as I believe that is what they were intended for as you need your settings fixed and just change the light level with the VND as needed plus do any polarizer changes similarly. As far as brands to get, I can only tell you what I use and find works well for my shooting. Have one of these UV filters on every lens I shoot, not so much for UV but for front glass protection. I’ve tested them and found no impact to image quality and no color shifting. They use 30 layer Multi Resistive Coatings (MRC) plus haven’t noticed any undue flaring above that displayed by the bare lens.
