I know some say, "I leave mine out in the open" and they don't have issues. But in the first couple of weeks of printing I started seeing a difference. For me, if I left them out, I would need to dry them every week or so... or when I use them. Now I dry them an put them in a dehumidified cabinet and it's rare I need to dry them again. My initial storage - -Printer Stand and Cabinet I got on sale (sits at 25-28% humidity)-Shoe Cabinet I got on sale and use 4 EVA mini dehumidifiers It is not sealed and stays around 35% humidity which is great for PLA) I expect if I sealed it I would be able to keep it around 28-30%, as I see those levels after refreshing the EVA boxes. Both of those I got at least 50% off from the price they currently show, way overpriced from what I see now. As I use quite a bit of filament so I needed more storage. So my current solution is based off this -https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/tool/ikea-besta-filament-dry-cabinet-stl-organizer-3d-printing-per-glassvik-moduland thishttps://github.com/RookieITSec/IkeaBestaFilamentCabinet I have two cabinets of similar size... one was an Ikea brimnes I got cheap, the other was hand built. Anyway I am in the process of sealing the doors with a gasket/molding and was looking for the best way to do it when I came across your post. So test it out and see, are you one of the lucky ones that never have humidity issues? Or do you see a difference and are always needing to dry your filament? These are all good options if you do need dry storage, providing you get them at a sale price, and vary on how much filament you need to keep on hand and ready to use. For dehumidifiers, the EVA, gun safe rods, thermo electric dehumidifiers ... they all work, the thermos may vary. You can use dessicant/silica beads, but at that point the EVA boxes are the same thing, and you don't have to worry about spilling any beads when swapping/drying them.

we have one of these that I really like. The beads change color when theyre saturated, then you just plug it in the wall, it dries out the beads, and it can get back to sucking up moisture.
