So I have a huge litter box that has a side opening (not covered). The side with the opening faces the wall. The cats have to walk across the carpet probably 2-3 feet to the floor. Very little tracking. I actually got the idea from a litter box furniture piece I had at one time (Out of Sight litter box if you're interested). They have the carpets right at the exit/entry of the litter box and on the ramp down to the exit. Very little litter made it out of the box. I figured if I engineered it so the cats had to walk over the carpet it would reduce tracking. This is the carpet I use ( and was used in the litter box furniture): https://a.co/d/07W8BZ6W
