I didn’t use PPF, rather 3M wrap vinyl. Bought a small roll like this one https://a.co/d/02bKkcgV. My suggestions would be to clean the trim really well before applying the film and to use knifeless tape instead of trying to cut into it with a blade, you can easily cut into the paint and that would be bad. I’m not a professional so proceed at your own risk. Granted, this is very low risk.
